"Not your typical romance..."
As we follow the protagonist through her current struggles interwoven with painful memories, I begin to understand how she got there. She’s not so unlike me or my friends in many ways and I wonder “are my friends unraveling and I don’t know?” I also wondered if I’d make the same choices.
I was both wanting to know and worried I wouldn’t want to know how this ends.

"Well-written and very relatable..."
This story is...a showcase of how a neglected soul that was battered by career, family, physicality, substance abuse, societal norms and many more, begins a path to the love it requires.
[It's] a modern-day character development story, and provides a first look into what leads to the ultimate romance.
...left me wanting to read the next few installments immediately!

"Be prepared for an intense journey into the contemporary world of young professional woman..."
Through the mind of Michelle Black, the central character of the book, the reader experiences her spiral into dark spaces lurking in her body, mind and heart. With no anchor or grounding in her life, Michelle Black walks through a series of dangerous corridors.
As I read the book, I thought of Elizabeth Bennet, the famous character from Jane Austin’s, Pride and Prejudice. Over two hundred years ago, Jane Austin explored the cultural foundations, defined boundaries, and limited relationships or opportunities of a woman in the Regency Era in Great Britain.
I am looking forward to reading Part Two.

"Daringly truthful, this book did not disappoint!"
In a world that still marks an ‘affair’ with a scarlet letter its refreshing to see it genuinely portrayed in these pages and even more thrilling to read that it has blossomed into a true love story.
As I read this book I thought about all the things, people, circumstances and experiences that shape our life, that shape our personality. Things that we could easily see as being negative but which are in fact leading us to a much better life.
I look forward to reading about where the rest of this journey takes them.

"Great start to a series..."
The story went quickly and I wished it wasn't over when I got to the last page. Hoping for the next installment soon! I want to see where this is going. The series title suggests something bigger is coming, so I'm hooked now!

"Honest, emotional, and hopeful..."
The inner emotions felt by Shelley are a mirror of the emotions felt by so many women today. Stress, pressure to be perfect, shame if you’re not, and the need/expectation to hold that all inside.
Above all the need to connect with someone who can “see” her is felt throughout along with the hope of finding someone who does.
Looking forward to the next edition!

"Left me wanting more..."
Ultimately, this book had enough hooks to make me want to read the next one, and I can’t wait to see the main character quit her job (I hope). I’m also excited for some detailed sexy scenes that the author hinted at!

"A Good Story of Self-Reflection..."
This is the beginning of a story of a woman who feels the (sometimes intense) pressure of trying to "have it all" by leading a successful career and being an involved wife and mother, yet finds out that it is not what she thought it would be.
I look forward to reading more about her journey...

"Engrossing and emotional..."
An engrossing story; a modern day search for true happiness and self love while trying to manage marriage and parenting along with the demands of an unrelenting and toxic workplace.
A beautifully crafted tale of a woman’s journey as she tries to meet everyone else’s needs, at the detriment of her own.

"I'm hooked..."
At the heart of this story is a feminist who lost her voice. Not because of a major tragedy, but a series of small compromises and slight tragedies along the way.
I’m hooked. I have to know what happens next. I’m thankful the story hints at redemption; I identify with her struggles and yearn to know she comes out the other side stronger, a warrior.

"Not your typical romance..."

I was both wanting to know and worried I wouldn’t want to know how this ends.
I’m left with a “to be continued”. I know this isn’t the end, but I’m also missing a bit of the middle.
This might be the point – I want to understand the middle parts of the line and will the end make her happy? I’ve decided I want to know.
If you want a very human story with a bit of romance on the side, this is the novella for you.

"Perfection comes at a price..."
A glimpse into the high powered world of finance and the toll it takes on one woman and her family. This book adequately portrays the stress of her life and I found myself compelled to keep reading to see how it ends. Without giving everything away, she finds peace in an unexpected liaison.
